Miss Universe runner up: Ada Aimee de la Cruz
Miss Ada Aimee de la Cruz is Miss Universe 2009 runner up to Miss Universe Stefania Fernandez from Venezuela. The reason Ada is feature in my blog is because she is from my native country Dominican Republic, our first and certainly not last victory was in 2003. Amelia Vega became the first Miss Universe from the Dominican Republic and served as a platform and inspiration to other contestants from the country.
The momentum is definitely shifting our way next year shouldn't be a problem, we are here and we are not going anywhere. Good luck to all the contestant who suffered from dehydration after the contest.

TOMS Shoes
"ONE FOR ONE
TOMS Shoes was founded on a simple premise: With every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One. Using the purchasing power of individuals to benefit the greater good is what we're all about.
OUR STORY
In 2006 an American traveler, Blake Mycoskie, befriended children in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One. Blake returned to Argentina with a group of family, friends and staff later that year with 10,000 pairs of shoes made possible by caring TOMS customers.
Since our beginning, TOMS has given over 140,000* pairs of shoes to children in need through the One for One model. Because of your support, TOMS plans to give over 300,000 pairs of shoes to children in need around the world in 2009.
Our ongoing community events and Shoe Drop Tours allow TOMS supporters and enthusiasts to be part of our One for One movement. Join us.
WHY SHOES?
Most children in developing countries grow up barefoot. Whether at play, doing chores or just getting around, these children are at risk.
Walking is often the primary mode of transportation in developing countries. Children can walk for miles to get food, water, shelter and medical help. Wearing shoes literally enables them to walk distances that aren't possible barefoot.
Wearing shoes prevents feet from getting cuts and sores on unsafe roads and from contaminated soil. Not only are these injuries painful, they also are dangerous when wounds become infected. The leading cause of disease in developing countries is soil-transmitted parasites which penetrate the skin through open sores. Wearing shoes can prevent this and the risk of amputation.
Many times children can't attend school barefoot because shoes are a required part of their uniform. If they don't have shoes, they don't go to school. If they don't receive an education, they don't have the opportunity to realize their potential.
There is one simple solution...SHOES.
Of the planet's six billion people, four billion live in conditions inconceivable to many. Lets take a step towards a better tomorrow."

Radiohead – These Are My Twisted Words
"So here's a new song, called 'These Are My Twisted Words'.
We've been recording for a while, and this was one of the first we finished.
We're pretty proud of it.
There's other stuff in various states of completion, but this is one we've been practicing, and which we'll probably play at this summer's concerts. Hope you like it."

Brisco-Revenge
"If you didn't know by know Florida rapper and Cash Money artist Brisco was robbed yesterday in a barber shop for his chain, cash and car. He was ok and got all his shit back but it seems he thought this was a good laugh and decides to get at the men that robbed him. Pretty raw track and he goes as far as putting out hits on their heads for 20,000 a pop (no pun) and I'm sure this will get worse before it gets better."
I wouldn't be surprise if everything was a set up nowadays rappers are doing whatever it takes for some attention.

Vans Authentic LX – Spring 2010
"Straight from the Spring 2010 Vault collection, pictures of two inventive models of the Authentic have made their way onto the web. Class meets classic as the timeless sneaker appears to feature an all leather upper under standard white laces. In both Brown and Violet, the colorways bring a subtle element of formality I’ve never seen from any other leather Vans model. Slated to release in February of next year, I can’t wait to see more pictures."

The Bloody Beetroots feat. The Cool Kids - “Awesome”
If you listen to one track by a masked, Italian production duo named after part of a vegetable today, let it be this one. On the lone single off their Romboarama LP, The Bloody Beetroots join forces with two of the coolest kids in the Midwest to introduce listeners to a sound that can only be described as “Awesome.” As Chuck Inglish and Mikey Rocks let heads across the globe know just how great they’re feeling, Sir Cornelius Bob Rifo and Tommy Tea back their flossing with a punchy instrumental driven by buzzsaw bass and syncopated synth stabs. The hard-edged, sorta over-the-top electro vibe may not be what listeners stateside are accustomed to, but this cut is as danceable as its creators are eccentric—that is, extremely. Romboarama is out now across the pond, but listeners wondering what else the Beetroots have up their sleeves will have to import the disc; unfortunately, there are no current plans for a domestic release.

North Korea frees two U.S. journalists after Clinton visit
North Korea on Tuesday released two jailed American journalists after a visit from former U.S. President Bill Clinton in the highest-level U.S. contact with North Korea since Clinton was president nearly a decade ago.
North Korea's KCNA news agency said North Korean leader Kim Jong-il had issued a special pardon to the two journalists, Euna Lee and Laura Ling of U.S. media outlet Current TV, which was co-founded by Clinton's vice president Al Gore.
Clinton was the highest-level American to visit North Korea since his secretary of state, Madeleine Albright, went there in 2000.
He was greeted warmly on his arrival and had what North Korea's KCNA news agency described as an "exhaustive conversation" over dinner with ailing North Korean leader Kim Jong-il and his top aides.
The White House denied a report by North Korea's news agency KCNA that said Clinton had carried a message to North Korea from U.S. President Barack Obama.
"That's not true," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters in Washington. Obama adviser David Axelrod told MSNBC that Clinton was on a "private humanitarian mission" and that "I don't think it's related to other issues."
The two journalists were arrested on the North Korea-China border in March and accused of illegal entry. A North Korean court sentenced both of them last month to 12 years hard labor for what it called grave crimes.
Arriving on a private jet on a trip to North Korea he had hoped to take before leaving office in January 2001, Clinton was presented with flowers by a girl dressed in traditional costume before he was led to a black limousine and driven away.
The North Korean news agency said Clinton passed on a verbal message from Obama.
"Kim Jong-il expressed thanks for this," KCNA said of the message. "He welcomed Clinton's visit to the DPRK (North Korea) and had an exhaustive conversation with him. There was a wide-ranging exchange of views on the matters of common concern."

Kung Fu Shoes
About a week ago while my car was getting some work done at the shop i was roaming around The Asian District and i decided to check out their super market; god lee!! i have never seem so many seasonings in my life!! anyways i purchased a couple of passion juice cans which are my favorite and then i came across this Kung fu shoes and they immediately caught my attention, so i purchase a pair and till this day i feel like this is the best investment i have made in my 22 years of life.
Why? Well...To begin with they are affordable. Sturdy cotton, silk, and velvet Chinese shoes with rubber soles go with any fabric in any season, dressy or casual, at any age. They fit any type of foot because they simply take the shape of the foot they are on.
